If the Call of Duty series is known for anything it’s frantic, often chaotic multiplayer. This is due to how fast someone can be killed and the confined nature of the maps. It also helps that Call of Duty: WW2 sports a ton of different weapons and devices you can use to deal death. When deciding upon our list of the best multiplayer weapons we wanted to focus on ones that are good for any game mode. Versatility and performing well in their archetype is key to making our list.
This doesn’t mean every other gun is terrible, in fact, we encourage players to experiment and try out new items until they find one that suits them best. We will also be excluding all Prestige weapons, simply because they are all fantastic weapons. Our list is for those just starting and looking to spend their tokens wisely. If you’re new or looking for an easy weapon to use these are our recommendations.
(This list is in no particular order)
1. PPSH-41
Let’s kick off our list with perhaps one of the most popular and deadly close range weapons in Call of Duty: WW2. The PPSH-41 is an absolute monster in confined spaces and is completely capable of wiping out an entire group of enemies without even reloading. A lot of this is thanks to the surprisingly high accuracy stat that can be bolstered with the Steady Aim attachment. Rounding this out is a decent damage stat and a high fire rate that helps this weapon turn foes into ribbons.
There’s very little kick with the PPSH-41 and once you learn to perform controlled bursts you can pick foes off from a surprising distance. Adding an extended mag to this weapon pushes it over the edge as I have been able to clear entire objectives without ever touching the reload button. Plus, adding a silencer to this weapon doesn’t hinder it too much and can make you a nightmare to deal with.
2. STG44
Another frequent choice among players is the STG44 which sports a low recoil, high fire rate, and a decent damage stat. This is a very robust weapon that’s useful in almost any scenario, especially if you’re the run and gun type. It’s ability to accurately pick foes off from a distance cannot be understated. There’s a surprising lack of kick with this gun, which can make the weapon quite dangerous when fired from the hip. What recoil there is can be easily controlled and having a 30 round magazine lets you easily take down multiple foes.
3. Lee Enfield
A personal favorite, the Lee Enfield is a bolt action sniper rifle that is one of the best sniper rifles in the game. It’s high damage, range, and accuracy stats allows expert sharpshooters to quickly remove key targets in an attack. While some snipers like the Karabin have higher fire rates, the Lee Enfield makes up for this with making every shot count. You can even obtain the Rapid Fire attachment to double this sniper’s fire rate. The best part about this gun is you won’t need to rely on the Mountain Division’s perk to land hits. Even with the sway, the Lee Enfield is quite accurate and can act as a fantastic secondary weapon for SMG or Rifle users.
4. BAR
The BAR is hands down one of the best guns in all of Call of Duty: WW2. Boasting a terrifyingly high damage stat for a rifle, the BAR can obliterate opponents in a matter of seconds. This rifle also has a solid range and fire rate which makes it great for all ranges. However, the downsides to the BAR are the rather small clip and horizontal recoil. This means that you will want to spend some time in the firing range to really get a handle on how to control this weapon. Yet, once you do the BAR becomes a tool of absolute destruction. It’s easy to burn through enemies before they even have a chance to react, just make sure to manage your ammo carefully. For those looking for an extremely powerful distance rifle then the BAR is for you.
5. BREN
If you are looking for a weapon to hunker down and defend an objective then the BREN is for you. This light machine gun has extremely high damage and range stats, along with surprisingly mild recoil. Of course, any sway can be completely neutralized with the use of a bipod. The BREN is a powerful weapon that can lock off an entire area with little issue. It’s also quite potent on the move, however, if you do plan on running around we recommend equipping the Extended Mags. Of all the weapons the BREN is probably the best for the new War mode thanks to its ability to defend entire areas with little effort. Pick this weapon up if you are looking to play more defensively and don’t want a sniper rifle.
